Alabama’s softball team collected its sixth shutout of the season on Tuesday, defeating UAB 4-0 at Mary Bowers Field.

In the fourth, Gabby Callaway led the inning off with a hard-hit single to center field and advanced to second on an error by the outfielder. After a single from Bailey Hemphill, Callaway was thrown out on a fielder’s choice at home.
Claire Jenkins walked to load the bases with one out and JB Sides got an infield RBI single to score the second Alabama run. Merris Schroder’s RBI groundout extended the lead to 3-0.
In the top of the seventh inning, Peyton Grantham led the inning off with a double and scored on a sac fly by Hemphill to jump Alabama out ahead 4-0.
Six of the nine players in the starting lineup for Alabama had a hit, in the team’s 10th win of the season.
