Cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. committed to Alabama live on ESPNU.
UPDATE: Surtain has officially signed with Alabama. He is the third player to officially sign with the Crimson Tide.
Surtain is the No. 6 overall prospect, No. 1 cornerback and the No. 2 overall player from Florida in the 2018 class. He chose Alabama over LSU, Clemson and Miami.
The five-star recruit took his official visit on Jan. 19, and he attended Alabama’s national championship parade the next day.
He played for the East team in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native played at American Heritage High School.
Surtain is the fifth corner in Alabama’s class and the second player to commit on National Signing Day so far.
The 6-foot-1.5, 199-pound corner is Alabama’s second five-star recruit and its 18 overall recruit.
