What: The 2017 West Alabama Women’s Healthcare Expo.
The event will include women’s healthcare vendors, a fashion show, makeovers, health screenings, and more.
Who: The University’s Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter is sponsoring the event. It is free and open to the public.
When: Monday, Oct. 23 from 3 – 8 p.m.
Where: The Ferguson Student Center
Why: “With it being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to host an event pertaining to breast cancer education,” said Mikayla Wyatt, vice president of public affairs for the University’s HOSA chapter. “We as an organization noticed that there is not an official University Programs sponsored event that happens on campus in the month of October that directly deals with breast cancer, so we decided to partner with [University Programs] to bring a sense of awareness about breast cancer and how important it is to be informed about it.”
