What: “Stories From the Field: Conversation with a Currently Serving Peace Corp Volunteer.”
Light refreshments will be served.
Who: The event is hosted by the Capstone International Center and open to all interested students.
The Peace Corp volunteer at the center of the event is Daniel Krimmel, a who graduated from The University of Alabama in 2013 and is currently serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay.
When: Tuesday, Oct. 24. 6-7 p.m.
Where: B.B. Comer Hall, room 121.
Why: The event will allow students to get information about the Peace Corp and international volunteer service from somebody with direct experience in the field. He will will share stories from his experience in Paraguay while also providing advice regarding the application process.
Krimmel presently serves in Paraguay helping young teens and troubled youth at an alternative boy’s prison. He is also working to build a playground in his local plaza.
On the Capstone International Center page, Krimmel writes that his experience is special to each individual.
“Ultimately, my experience is unique to me, as anyone who joins will be challenged to explore depths of their being they have never ventured to before,” Krimmel said.
