Why: Fran Oneal, a faculty member in Capstone International, said the State Department hires and offers internships to students from all majors and fields of study.
“The State Department is a huge organization and they hire students of any major and people with all kinds of training because they need everything from computer software specialists, management people, logistics people and people from all sorts of backgrounds so it’s appropriate for students of any major to come and hear about these opportunities,” Oneal said.
Oneal also said that state department internships offer students the chance to gain valuable experience and travel to various countries.
“There’s really nothing more solid for a resume than having worked either in D.C. or overseas in the State Department,” Oneal said. “It’s a great way to see the world and do a lot of behalf of the United States.”
