A team of City of Tuscaloosa employees captured an alligator early Monday morning.
At around 7:40 a.m., TPD responded to an alligator sighting at Liberty Recycling, where a driver had found an approximately 8-foot alligator sitting under his 18-wheeler, according to a press release.
“Employees from Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Traffic Division, Lake Patrol, and Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation’s animal control were able to capture the alligator and secure it,” the release read.
According to the release, the alligator has been given to Alabama Game and Fish and will be returned to its natural habitat in Gainesville, AL.
