For the third year in a row, Moon Taxi is is back in Tuscaloosa to kick off another school year, taking another two-night residency at Druid City Music Hall. The Nashville-based band returns to Druid City this weekend.
Moon Taxi will bring their escapist indie rock sound, and hit summer single “Two High,” to the Druid City stage for two nights. Big Something will open on Friday night, Aug. 25, and Sun Seeker will open on Saturday night, Aug. 26.
The show will begin at 8:30 p.m. both nights and the doors will open at 7:30. Tickets are $28 for general admission and $40 for the pit. The event is all ages.
The band, which consists of vocalist/guitarist Trevor Terndrup, guitarist Spencer Thomson, bassist Tommy Putnam, keyboardist Wes Bailey and drummer Tyler Ritter, released their most recent single in May. It’s the first new bit of music for the group since their 2015 record “Daybreaker.”
In the midst of festival season this summer, Moon Taxi’s already loyal fan base seemed to increase with the popularity spike of the single “Two High.” The song was featured on Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits playlist, which promotes fresh music to listeners all over the world.
Druid City Music Hall boasts a stellar lineup for the rest of the semester as well. The venue will welcome Judah & the Lion, Band of Horses, Shovels & Rope, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Turnpike Troubadours and Whiskey Myers, all before Thanksgiving. For the complete calendar, visit their website.
