Alabama soccer fell to Mississippi State on the road Friday night by a score of 1-0. With the loss, The Crimson Tide falls to 7-4-1 (2-2-1, SEC), while the Bulldogs gain a win, making its record 6-6 (1-4, SEC).
Not much action occurred in the first half, as the game remained in a scoreless tie heading into the locker room. Alabama had slightly more offensive production, recording five shots to Mississippi State’s one.
The Bulldogs came out attacking right out of the gate in the second half, scoring 36 seconds into the period. Mississippi State’s Johanna Hamblett scored from 15 yards out to break the scoreless tie. From then on, Alabama was not able to create enough chances to equalize, and the Bulldogs picked up a victory.
By the end of the game, Alabama ended up recording 12 shots, five on goal. Junior Kat Stratton saved three shots for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama will be back in action on Oct. 6 when the team takes on Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa at 7 p.m.
