Alabama soccer fell to Missouri, 2-0, on the road Sunday, extending its losing streak to three games. With the loss, Alabama falls to 7-6-1 on the season, with a 2-4-1 record in conference play.
The first half was all Missouri, as the Tigers outshot the Crimson Tide, 11-4. Missouri saw its offensive efforts be rewarded when Sarah Luebbert scored from five yards out around the 27-minute mark. That goal would be the difference maker in the first half, with Missouri heading to the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
The second half saw a halt in offense, as both teams were not able to find much action. In the 83rd minute, Missouri found the back of the net again, though, as Jessica Johnson scored from less than 10 yards away. After its second goal, the Tigers cruised to the 2-0 victory and improved their record to 9-4-1 and 4-2-1 in the SEC.
Alabama had 10 shots on the day, with four of those being on target. Junior Kat Stratton managed to pick up seven saves in the loss.
Next, Alabama will face Georgia in Tuscaloosa. SEC Network will broadcast the game. Kick off between the Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs is set for 7 p.m. and will be a part of Alabama’s Power of Pink initiative.
