The Crimson Tide prepared for the Third Saturday of October one last time in front of the media on Wednesday. No. 1 Alabama will face off against its rival, No. 9 Tennessee, in Knoxville, Tennessee on Saturday.
Two question marks from Monday’s practice were starting linebacker Reuben Foster and right guard Alphonse Taylor’s playing chances for Saturday. Both left last week’s game with concussions. On Wednesday, only Foster was seen at practice. Taylor was replaced by sophomore Lester Cotton in all the drills. Foster was at practice, but remained in a non-contact jersey. He still ran coverage drills at full speed during practice.
Other Notes:
- Quarterbacks worked with Lane Kiffin and receivers during the period and threw a lot of crossing patterns.
- The interior defensive line worked on reads with defensive line coach Karl Dunbar. Jonathan Allen and Da’ Shawn Hand were seen working on the reads.
- Defensive backs and inside linebackers, including Foster, worked against scout receivers posing as Josh Malone and Jauan Jennings.
- Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson led outside linebackers on pass rushing against a scout team.
