At 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, Tuscaloosa police responded to a noise complaint for a party taking place on 24th Avenue East in Alberta. Upon arrival they found over 100 people in the street, many fighting with each other, and one man, 30-year-old Quinton Allen Doughty dead, according to The Tuscaloosa News.
The Tuscaloosa News reported that Doughty was found with multiple gun shot wounds. Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Assistant Commander Lt. Kip Hart said, “a few people were willing to come forward and tell us what happened, which led to the arrest, but know more people saw what happened and we just wish they would come forward and tell us what happened.”
With the help of witnesses that did come forward, officers arrested 19-year-old Kieric Diangelo Mitchell with murder Thursday afternoon and transported him to the Tuscaloosa county jail holding him on a $75,000 bond, which he posted at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.
Hart said the Tuscaloosa Police Department is still speaking with witnesses attempting to find out as much information as possible regarding the case.
