Alabama football had its last practice open to the media before its trip to LSU on Saturday. The Crimson Tide was missing one of its running backs on Wednesday when Bo Scarbrough was nowhere to be found during the media-viewing period. Scarbrough has 306 yards and five touchdowns this year on 51 attempts. Scarbrough’s carries had been increasing over the last few weeks behind freshman Joshua Jacobs and fellow sophomore Damien Harris.
Harris and Jacobs were followed by junior Derrick Gore and sophomore Ronnie Clark for the majority of the drills. The backs ran under the shoot, then through two players holding pads up.
Additional practice notes:
- A Buffalo Bills scout was present watching the defensive backs for a portion of the media’s time.
- The back seven defenders did coverage against a scout team. Sophomore Minkah Fitzpatrick was practicing his new position of safety, replacing Eddie Jackson. Junior Tony Brown took Fitzpatrick’s spot at corner.
- Jalen Hurts and backup quarterback Cooper Bateman were seen rolling out and throwing deep out routes at the end of the availability. Hurts missed three passes in a row and offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin talked to him after each missed ball.
