Sitting at a bus stop with a box of chocolates and a briefcase, Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon played Attorney General Jeff Sessions once again – this time as if Sessions were Forrest Gump.
Talking to those sitting at a bus stop with him, much like Tom Hanks’s character in Forrest Gump, McKinnon’s Sessions talked about his new role in the government, all while eating and offering chocolates.
“I always say, ‘life is like a box of chocolates,’” McKinnon’s Sessions said, leading into a play on one of Gump’s most famous lines and Session’s alleged racist beliefs. “Sure are a lot of brown ones in there.”
The sketch went on to reference Sessions recent scandal: that Session’s had communications with Russia’s ambassador to the United States during President Donald Trump’s campaign – information that Sessions didn’t provide in his Senate confirmation hearings.
“I got 800 messages and phone alerts, saying I was a sneaky little liar,” McKinnon’s Sessions said. “I didn’t know what to do, so my lawyer said, ‘run, Jeffy, run!’ ”
