On Friday the Preseason All-SEC Team, as voted by members of the media, was released, and the Crimson Tide led all schools with 13 total selections. LSU (10), Tennessee (9) and Florida (8) followed with Auburn, Georgia and Texas A&M all taking up seven spots on the list.
Alabama, the preseason pick to win the conference, also led all schools with seven First-Team selections. Since 1992 only three teams have finished with more. Alabama did so twice (2010 and 2011) and Florida finished with more in 2009.
Former Alabama running back Alvin Kamara also earned preseason honors as the second team all-purpose player. On Wednesday, Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Kamara is one of the leaders the Volunteers will rely on in 2016.
The top vote-getters in 2016 were LSU running back Leonard Fournette, Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly and Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley.
