There is a potential for “severe storms” across Central Alabama from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to an outlook released by the National Weather Service. The service warns of winds up to 70 mph and hail up to the size of a quarter, but also states that “a brief tornado could not be ruled out.”
In an email, The University of Alabama told students they are monitoring weather conditions and will make a further announcement when more information becomes available.
