On Monday Alabama began preparation for the upcoming SEC Championship against the Florida Gators.
In his press conference earlier in the day Nick Saban told the media that he was not going to overlook the Gators. Monday’s practice revealed what players Alabama is preparing to face.
A few running backs wore No. 21 jerseys to help the Crimson Tide get ready to face running back Kelvin Taylor. He has recorded 977 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves has a reputation as one of the conference’s better defensive backs so it was no surprise to see Alabama had a player wearing a No. 1 jersey to help the team prepare for him.
Practice Notes:
- Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake and the other running backs ran drills with cones to help them work on cutting quickly.
- Jake Coker, Cooper Bateman and the other quarterbacks spent the viewing period throwing passes to wide receivers like Calvin Ridley and Cam Sims.
- Saban spent the viewing period throwing passes to the defensive backs that were working on intercepting the ball in one-on-one drills.
