Humane Society of the United States and Tuscaloosa County CrimeStoppers offer rewards for information on cat abuse video

An emailed release from Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steven Anderson said TPD is continuing to investigate the animal cruelty case in which a video of a man beating a cat was posted on the Internet and went viral.

In order to request an arrest warrant for the suspect, Brandon White, investigators need the date and approximate time the video was taken, the release read.

According to the release, the Humane Society of the United States is offering an up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those involved in the incident. Tuscaloosa County CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for similar information.

Those with information are asked to call TPD at 205-349-2121 or make an anonymous call to Tuscaloosa County CrimeStoppers at 205-752-7867.
