Connect 2015, the sales & marketing career fair, will occure Wednesday., Oct. 14, from noon to 3:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Ballroom.
Around 50 local, regional and national companies will be at the event, including Belk, AT&T and American Airlines, said Jordan Tucker, the Digital Outreach Manager for the UA sales program. Each of the companies have one to three available positions, in either full-time jobs or internships, Tucker said.
Tucker said many of the companies in attendance only come to The University of Alabama because they like the personalized experience they receive.
“They’re definitely really excited to recruit UA students,” Tucker said.
Lanie Dinardo, the cooperate engagement manager, said that students should bring several copies of their updated resumes and familiarize themselves with the companies that are coming and the positions they are offering. Companies will look for students that are graduating in December 2015, May 2016, or are interested in summer internships, Dinardo said.
Although the companies will offer positions in sales, marketing and management, all students are encouraged to attend the fair, Tucker said. Even if the students are uninterested in the positions available, they will have the opportunity to network with the companies and get involved in other departments of the companies, he said.
“One of my favorite parts is just being able to connect students with companies,” Tucker said.
The sales program will have team members walking around at the event to help coach students if they are nervous or need help getting started, Tucker said. Dress is business casual and students are encouraged to come by any time they are free during the event.
