Alabama recognized seven players of the week after its 37-10 victory over Middle Tennessee in the Crimson Tide’s home opener.
Running backs Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake represented the offense this week. Henry scored three rushing touchdowns for the second straight week while Kenyan Drake led all Alabama players with 202 all-purpose yards.
Two players were also selected to represent the defense this week. Both A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed recorded five tackles and helped the defense limit Middle Tennessee to 86 yards rushing. Reed also recovered a fumble forced by linebacker Reggie Ragland
Three players were recognized from the special teams unit: Tony Brown, Maurice Smith and Michael Nysewander. Smith led all special teams’ tacklers with three tackles while Brown and Nysewander each recorded one tackle.
