Student publications announce new leaders

Sean Landry was named the Editor-in-Chief of The Crimson White; Emanuel Adelson was named the Ad Manager for The Crimson White; Rachel Deale was named the Editor of Southern Historian; and Adam Petty was named the Assistant Editor of Southern Historian.

Landry, a junior majoring in journalism, is currently the production
editor for The Crimson White.

“This selection is an incredible opportunity and a great challenge for me both personally and
professionally,” he said.

Landry previously worked as the assistant sports editor and the
summer sports editor.

“Sean has done a masterful job the past year in juggling lots of jobs with The Crimson White,” said Chris Roberts, chair of the board. “His sports writing has been excellent, and his work as production manager has been very strong this semester.”

Adelson is a junior majoring in marketing. He has been the account executive for The Crimson White since August.

“I’m looking forward to working with our team and taking the advertising department to the next level,”
he said.

Roberts said Adelson made it clear he was
interested in advertising.

“When I brought in the current sales manager he leaded at the chance to start working in sales for the paper and online site,” Roberts said. “He has been tackling one of the more important sales regions for student media this year and has emerged a leader among the sales staff.”

Deale is a doctoral candidate studying history. She worked with Southern Historian in various capacities, including assistant editor.

“I’m looking forward to being editor of the Southern Historian as we try to push the journal into a more digital form,” she said.
