The University’s Culverhouse College of Commerce received a $2 million gift Monday from Japanese company Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited and Birmingham-based Protective Life Corporation. Part of this gift will be used to endow a professorship called the “Dai-ichi Life Teaching Chair in Actuarial Sciences and Risk Management,” and will honor Tsuneta Yano, the founder of Dai-ichi Life.
