The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art is showing works from their permanent collection in Contemporary Treasures Trove until Dec. 12. The 30 pieces in the show illustrate differences in media and discipline from primarily American artists. The permanent collection was started in the 1960s as an important component of the department of art and art history. It contains over 1,500 pieces collected over the years. The gallery is hosting a reception Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the show. The gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Garland Hall.
