School can get busy, and with the endless amount of events at the University and in the city of Tuscaloosa, there’s no shortage of places to get your hair, nails or self care done. Whether it’s for game day, a party or just feeling put together for the week, finding your go to spots can make such a huge difference.
Glow Salon & Blow Dry Bar
A popular student spot near campus, Glow Salon & Blow Dry Bar does everything from trims to full color, and people trust them for bigger changes. Prices are a little higher, but the consistency is why people keep going back.
BloGo Salon + MedSpa
This salon offers a full service experience. You can get your hair done and book skincare treatments in the same place. It is a good stop for when you want to treat yourself before an event.
Image Makers Salon & Spa
Image Makers is a quieter option with a more relaxed vibe. They are great for basic cuts, blowouts and simple color, and it’s usually easier to get appointments here than the bigger name spots.
Ulta Beauty
Ulta Beauty is a solid option if you want something more affordable. Located in Midtown Village, they offer hair services inside the store, and you can usually find deals or promotions.
Tuscaloosa Nail and Spa
One of the more popular spots among students, Tuscaloosa Nail and Spa is located in Midtown Village, which is a big plus if you don’t have a car since there’s a UA bus route there on Wednesdays and Sundays from 3–5 p.m. It does get busy, so booking ahead is a good idea.
Baby Nails
Located in Northridge Center, Baby Nails offers a variety of manicure and pedicure services. They also run a 10% off deal from Monday to Wednesday for students with a campus ID. It’s convenient and can get busy, so it’s best to book ahead.
Elite Nail-Spa
A reliable, budget friendly spot for full nail services like acrylics, gel, dip and pedicures. Elite Nail-Spa also does basic nail designs and eyebrow waxing. Prices are affordable, and they sometimes run small weekday deals.
Village Nail Bar
A more modern salon that does full sets, nail art, pedicures and eyebrow waxing, Village Nail Bar is a bit pricier, but they occasionally offer discounts or combo deals, especially for new customers or fill-ins.
European Wax Center
A go to for a lot of students because it’s consistent and easy to book. Also in Midtown Village, European Wax Center offers a free first-time wax and they also offer packages and memberships, which can save money if you go regularly.
Lush MedSpa Tuscaloosa
A better stop for when you want a full reset, Lush MedSpa offers massages and facials, plus monthly membership deals that a lot of students split into their budgets.
Perfect Nails
Located in Northport, Perfect Nails is a favorite for a calmer environment compared to Tuscaloosa spots. The shop offers good quality work and is usually not as packed.
Coterie Salon
A solid hair salon option if you’re looking for something more low key in Northport. People enjoy Coterie Salon for their consistent cuts and color without everyone from campus being there.
Vicky A Nail Spa
Known for good pricing and solid work, Vick A Nail Spa in Northport is a solid spot for your nail needs. A lot of students say it’s worth the drive when Tuscaloosa nail salons are fully booked.
