With the NFL draft just around the corner on April 23, here are predictions of where some of the Alabama players will land.
First, we will start in the first round. It is likely that two Crimson Tide players will be drafted. The first off the board will be quarterback Ty Simpson. Simpson was a big reason the Crimson Tide made it all the way to the Rose Bowl last season, leading the team to four consecutive ranked wins in four weeks, including a huge win over Georgia that snapped its 33-game home win streak.
Last season, Simpson completed 305/473 pass attempts for 3,567 yards through the air, with 28 touchdowns to five interceptions and a 145.2 passer rating. Simpson was elite in the first half of the season; in the second half, his production fizzled amid rumors of an injury. Many scouts and analysts are extremely high on Simpson.
“I think Ty Simpson is QB1,” said Dan Orlovsky, an ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback. “I think Ty Simpson is the best quarterback in this class … Who took more games over throughout the course of the season? Ty Simpson. It’s not even close.”
Prediction: No. 21 overall in the first round to the Pittsburgh Steelers
Next off the board will be offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is an absolute tank of a human being at a towering 6-foot-7, 366 pounds. Proctor’s hand power and torque can be overwhelming for solo defenders, and his anchor can be suffocating against opposing power rushes.
“Proctor is a mass of humanity with rare size and length at his command,” Lance Zierlein, NFL.com analyst, said. “He’s capable as a move blocker but shines when rolling downhill as a bona-fide people mover with bulldozing power.”
Proctor was elite last season at left tackle, allowing just two sacks and finishing with an 84.6 pass blocking grade according to PFF.
Prediction: No. 23 overall in the first round to the Philadelphia Eagles
The Crimson Tide will have one player taken in the second round, being wide receiver Germie Bernard. Bernard’s elite hands, above-average explosiveness, elite route running ability and blazing speed, clocking a 4.48 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine.
Bernard finished his last season in Tuscaloosa with 963 scrimmage yards, nine touchdowns and averaged 61.1 receiving yards per game.
“He’s ready for this moment,” head coach Kalen DeBoer said. “He’s got big goals, and it’s been really cool seeing him mesh and fit in with, not just the receiving core but the rest of the team.”
Prediction: No. 54 overall in the second round to the Philadelphia Eagles
For the third round, the Crimson Tide will have two players taken: middle linebacker Deontae Lawson and center Parker Brailsford. Lawson was a full-time starter for the Crimson Tide for four years and will bring tons of experience and an extremely high football IQ to whatever team drafts him.
Lawson accumulated 89 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and four pass breakups last season.
Prediction: No. 75 overall in the third round to the Miami Dolphins
Brailsford is described by NFL scouts as the definition of a “natural” at the center position, although he doesn’t quite have the same size as Proctor, at 6-foot-2-inches and 289 pounds.
Being a little undersized, 20 pounds lighter than the average NFL center, Brailsford makes up for it with elite athleticism and blocking range, nearly infallible leverage and pad level and surprising compact play strength and power output. Brailsford was a brick wall in the 2025 season, allowing just one sack, and had a pass blocking grade of 75.6 according to PFF.
Prediction: No. 93 overall in the third round to the Chicago Bears
The Crimson Tide will have a pair of players selected in the fourth round: edge rusher LT Overton and cornerback Domani Jackson. Overton, a former five-star recruit, has tons of upside, displaying explosive vertical and lateral burst. Overton has all the physical tools needed as a primary power producer.
Prediction: No. 125 overall in the fourth round to the New England Patriots
Jackson possesses elite speed, clocking a 4.41 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, and is a physically gifted, polarizing defensive back. Standing at 6-foot-1-inches tall and weighing 194 pounds, Jackson is the prototypical size for a cornerback.
Prediction: No. 138 overall in the fourth round to the San Francisco 49ers
In the sixth round, defensive tackle Tim Keenan III will be selected. Keenan was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide, and his Senior Bowl performance spotlighted both these prevailing strengths, as well as his limited pass-rush profile.
Keenan is a high-motor defender, and when he gets pressure, he’s good at converting. But at 6-foot-1, 333 pounds, Keenan is stiff, short-armed and doesn’t have a consistent counter arsenal or a well-developed rush plan beyond initial power.
Prediction: No. 214 overall in the sixth round to the Dallas Cowboys
There could be many more Crimson Tide players selected in the draft or signed as undrafted free agents, as 19 players declared for the draft. More Crimson Tide players to watch for include running back Jam Miller, tight end Josh Cuevas, linebacker Justin Jefferson and many more.
