Hannon Bulger, an SGA senator for the College of Human Environmental Sciences and speaker of the Senate, resigned, leaving a vacancy for both positions.
Bulger said she resigned for “personal reasons and family circumstances” in her resignation. She was one of four senators for the college, and was elected in with 367 votes, the most votes received by a College of Human Environmental Sciences senate candidate.
Bulger was also the speaker of the Senate, a position she was elected to by other senators. SGA press secretary Counts Shanks said that the election for a new speaker will occur at the first regular session Senate meeting, and that until then, SGA Executive Vice President Aubrei Grisaffe will lead the Senate.
A special election will be held Sept. 17 to elect a new College of Human Environmental Sciences Senator.
