A University of Alabama football fan died on Tuesday from injuries sustained in a bar fight with two Louisiana State University fans.

Two arrests have been made in the death of Robert Bowers, 46. Azia Crockett, 27, and Ryan Anthony, 24, turned themselves in to police and were charged with one count each of felony manslaughter, according to The Advocate.

According to Ponchatoula police, the altercation took place at a Ponchatoula, LA bar early Sunday morning. Authorities discovered Bowers unconscious at the bar, and he was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where he remained on life support until he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson said investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fight between the Alabama fan and two LSU fans.

“Anthony struck Bowers in the head, knocked him unconscious,” Layrisson said. “He went to the ground and Azia Crockett punched him multiple times, as well.”

Layrisson said an issue with Bowers’ niece occurred, and she was ejected by bouncers shortly before the fight began. He said there is currently no evidence the brawl was caused by the matchup between the two teams on Saturday.
