The chance to sit back, sip on some coffee and listen to locally produced art is returning to Monarch this week.

Pure Products Open Mic Night will be held this Thursday, March 22 at Monarch Espresso Bar from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Selections of poetry, creative nonfiction essays and short stories will be spoken by artists who are eager to share. Those interested in reading should make sure to arrive early — only the first ten people to sign up will be able to read for the audience. No genre restrictions are enforced, but readings should be limited to around 5-7 minutes.

The event, sponsored by the UA English Department, is free and open to all who are interested in attending or reading. For answers to any questions you may have regarding the event, contact Sarah Hughes at [email protected]. Monarch is located at 714 22nd Ave.
