Still need ideas for how to spend your Valentine’s Day? Whether you’re looking to take out your significant other or just have a fun night with friends, here are six ways to spend Valentine’s Day in Tuscaloosa.

Oscar short film nominations at Bama Theatre

Looking for a more cultural experience for Valentine’s night? Check out the Bama Art House Screening of the 2017 Oscar Nominated Short Films. Films will include all three categories — animated, documentary and live action. The films will begin screening at 7:30 p.m. at the Bama Theatre.

Couples Yoga at the Rec Center

The Recreation Center is offering a “Bring your Sweetie to Yoga” class at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. This event is not exclusive to love birds, so bring your one friend or significant other to yoga and relax away the stress of the week.

50 Shades of Movies

If you want a classic stand-by, take your date to see a movie this Valentine’s Day. Usually this is a cliché and overrated V-day date, but this year the movie choices are too good to ignore. Oscar Nominated Films, “La La Land,” ”Hidden Figures,” and “Lion” are all currently playing. Also in high demand right now, “50 Shades Darker” is now playing at Cobb Theatre. Just in time for Valentine’s Day!

“The Philadelphia Story”

Head to Marian-Gallaway Theatre to see “The Philadelphia Story” on Feb. 14 and see the story of the spoiled Lord family daughter who creates a scandal when she divorces her husband and remarries. This romantic comedy will be provided to you by UA Theatre & Dance students at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $14 to $20 and are available online at theatre.ua.edu.

River Walk

Step off the beaten path and pack a picnic to take to the River Walk. If you’re looking for someone else to cook for you, walk along Jack Warner Parkway all the way to the Tuscaloosa River Market and Another Broken Egg to eat. Try this fun new twist on a classic date night.

Rounder’s Valentine’s Day Party

Rounders is hosting a Valentine’s Day party. Come “get rounded” with your friends or significant other and try their samples of Stella Artois. You can also enter to win a spa package and gift card. Whether you’re drinking about someone or celebrating love, Rounders wants you to come and party with them tonight.
