Alabama women’s tennis began its weekend slate on Thursday, going up against No. 14 Texas. Texas claimed the match 4-0 after securing the doubles point and three singles matches.
This advances Alabama to 10-3 for the overall season and 2-3 in conference play.
Kristina Paskauskas and Karla Bartel paired up again to take on doubles, but their match was left unfinished at 4-3 as Texas gained enough points to secure the overall doubles point without finishing it.
Paskauskas and Bartel tied for the most UA doubles victories earlier in the season with six wins.
Double pairing Klara Milicevic and Maria Andrienko were brought down by Texas 6-0. Addison Bowman and Amina Salibayeva were also defeated 6-1.
Texas defeated Alabama three times in singles, and the other three sets remained unfinished as the match was called in favor of Texas.
Alabama competed again on Saturday and fell to No. 8 Texas A&M 4-1.
The Aggies took home every singles set but two, one of which Bartel won and one that remained unfinished as the match was called.
Bartel gained Alabama’s one point with a singles win against Violeta Martinez. The first set went to Martinez 6-3. Bartel came back in the second set and defeated Martinez 7-6 to tie the game before ultimately defeating her in overtime 7-4.
Alabama will play again on Friday in Tuscaloosa against Missouri. The match is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
