The University will kick off the semester with Bama Jam, with Yung Gravy ready to headline, this Thursday at Bryce Lawn Preserve
“This year’s Bama Jam will feature a variety of activities for students to participate in, including amusement rides, mini golf, photo booths, caricature artists, face painting, festival hair styling, arcade games, and more,” said Paige Acker-Price, the director of University Programs. “We will also have free treats like ice cream and snow cones, a Coca-Cola activation and free water.”
All students will be welcomed by the University Programs staff, with shuttles helping students navigate to Bryce Lawn Preserve for the event.
Yung Gravy is known for his energetic stage presence, humorous lyrics, trap beats and sampling of other artists’ works. But before students hear Yung Gravy’s performance, The Band U.S. will be opening the show.
University Programs staff began working on Bama Jam during the spring semester. Through a booking agency, student vote and discussions with management companies, University Programs selected Yung Gravy to headline the event.
“Our mission for University Programs is to create engaging events where all students feel welcome, find support, and build community. We believe Bama Jam does all of these things,” said Acker-Price. “We want students to feel a part of the excitement of being on campus and kick off the academic year.”
