The SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist is here, and of the 68 players named, five of them represent the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Goalkeeper McKinley Crone, midfielder Felicia Knox, midfielder Reyna Reyes, forward Riley Tanner and forward Riley Mattingly Parker comprise the Alabama portion of the watchlist.

Crone recorded six shutouts in 2021, ranking fourth all-time in shutouts for a single season. She also ranks ninth all-time in career saves (148) and is tied for fifth all-time in career shutouts with 11.

Knox was tied for first on the team in assists (3) and was tied for third on the team in points (9) in 2021. She recorded the game-winning goal in the second overtime period against Southern Miss. Knox led the team in shots, firing off 43 last season.

Reyes earned 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team and First Team All-SEC honors in 2021. She ranked second on the team in game-winning goals, scoring the go-ahead goals against Jacksonville State and LSU. Reyes has also played and started in 20 games with the Mexican National Team.

Tanner led the team in game-winning goals with three in 2021, which ranks her sixth all-time in program history for single season game-winning goals. She also tied for first on the team in assists (3) and third on the team in goals (3) last year.

Mattingly Parker missed the 2021 season due to an injury but earned Second Team All-SEC honors for the 2020-21 season. Despite only playing nine games during the 2020-21 season, she recorded five points, two goals and one assist.

Georgia had the most players represented on the list with seven total.

18 of the 31 first-or-second team All-SEC players during the 2021 season have returned to the collegiate pitch in 2022.

The Crimson Tide team was also in the top five in voting by the conference’s head coaches, at fifth, making Alabama the third highest in the SEC West.

The Crimson Tide’s regular season contests are scheduled to begin Aug. 18 with a road matchup against the Florida Atlantic Owls at 6 p.m. CT.
