Just days after Alabama suffered a brutal loss in the national championship to Clemson, starting Crimson Tide defensive lineman Raekwon Davis announced that he will be returning for his senior season.

Last April, Davis was rated by Mel Kiper as the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2019 draft. Although his draft stock may have fallen over the course of the season, he was still considered to be a late first round pick by some analysts.

Davis took to Twitter to announce his return, posting an image saying with a message, saying “The NFL has always been a goal of mine, but playing football at the University of Alabama is an experience that only happens once, and I’m not ready to see that one.”

Davis was not the only draft-eligible Alabama player to decide to come back for another season. Cornerback Trevon Diggs announced on Twitter that he will return for his senior season as well. Diggs started at cornerback for the Crimson Tide to begin the season, but suffered a season-ending injury against Arkansas in week six.

Several other draft-eligible players, including defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and offensive tackle Jonah Williams, have yet to announce whether they will return or enter the draft.
