Alabama announced the hirings and promotions of several new and current members of the coaching staff.

Among those is the promotions of Mike Locksley from wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator and Tosh Lupoi from outside linebackers coach to defensive coordinator. Both served as co-coordinators as well the previous year.

“We are excited to be able to promote from within to fill our offensive and defensive coordinators positions,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a press release. “Both Tosh and Michael are tremendous football coaches who will do an excellent job leading their respective units.

Locksley and Lupoi will both have co-coordinators. Josh Gattis will take over as wide receivers coach and will serve as co-offensive coordinator, while Pete Golding will be co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach.

Elsewhere, Alabama announced the hiring Dan Enos as quarterbacks coach and associate head coach. This comes after he joined Michigan’s staff for barely even a month. Enos previously spent time at Arkansas as an offensive coordinator and as the head coach of Central Michigan.

“We are pleased and happy to have Dan Enos joining our coaching staff at The University of Alabama,”  Saban said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge with five years of head coaching experience and numerous stops as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Dan is a bright football mind and an outstanding recruiter who will strengthen our coaching staff and give our players the best chance to be successful.”

Along with Enos, Craig Kuligowski will be the defensive line coach and associate head coach after Karl Dunbar left for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kuligowski was a long-time assistant at Missouri, and recently spent two years on Mark Richt’s staff in Miami in the same position.

“I have known Craig for a long time, going all the way back to my first head coaching job at Toledo when he was one of our starting offensive tackles,” Saban said. “He is an outstanding football coach who will bring great energy to our program. Craig does a tremendous job of developing players and has proven to be an exceptional recruiter.”

All such employment contracts are subject to approval by The University of Alabama Board of Trustees.
