Two Tuscaloosa U.S. Postal Service employees who accepted cash to deliver marijuana were sentenced on Tuesday, authorities report.

In March, both Lenard Pompey, 39, a supervisor, and Lyle Jones, 36, a mail carrier, pleaded guilty to charges of bribery and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

U.S. District Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala sentenced the two, giving Pompey six months of home detention followed by six months of probation. Haikala sentenced Jones to 12 months of probation.

According to AL.com, a second mail carrier, Jocelin Betts, who pleaded guilty in November to bribery and 
conspiracy to distribute marijuana, will be sentenced on Sept. 29.

According to authorities, the investigators determined that employees at three different Tuscaloosa post offices had been recruited by drug trafficker Quincy Terrell Doss, who was arrested with Manuel Johnson Jr., for conspiracy to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to bribe postal workers and intent to 
distribute marijuana.
