Muffins recalled in Alabama

Café Valley, a baking company based out of Phoenix, has issued a recall of some of its muffins, as they may contain
unlabelled nuts.

In an announcement on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s website, Café Valley warned customers of the risks involved with eating the wrong muffins.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the company said.

The company recalled 543 cases of banana nut mini muffins that were accidentally labeled as lemon poppy seed mini muffins due to a partial roll of the previous run of product labels being inserted into the production of banana
nut muffins.

Café Valley said the products were distributed to Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Vermont. So far no illnesses have been reported.

Customers can receive a full refund by returning the muffins to the place of purchase. If customers have any questions, they should call the customer community service line at 623-866-7383.
