Alabama quarterback Blake Sims, who has been nursing a shoulder injury since the Florida game, was still somewhat limited in Wednesday’s practice. Sims left the game against Florida after landing hard on his shoulder. He made a couple of throws during the media viewing period but watched the majority of the drills. Coach Nick Saban said Sims has looked normal 
during practice.

“Blake is fine. He has done really well,” Saban said. “He hasn’t had any issues or problems. I would not know that he was ever hurt based on the way he 
has practiced.”

Saban also addressed the absence of running back Tyren Jones and offensive lineman Grant Hill. Jones tore a ligament in his finger and had to undergo surgery, so Saban said Jones will be out for a couple of weeks. Jones spent practice on an exercise bike during the bye week and did not appear at practice at all this week.

Saban said Hill has also not been seen at practice this week and is dealing with an illness.

“We’re just trying to help him get well,” Saban said.
