As graduation looms just around the corner, I find myself wondering if anything that I did during my four years at this University will be remembered in the years to come. What is my legacy? What impact have I made here?

As my term as the president of the Honors Program Student Association comes to an end, a transition within the Honors College is just beginning.

The Honors College administration, the student advisory board and current officers of HPSA have discussed the launch of a new Honors College Assembly, which will broaden the scope and deepen the reach of the current HPSA organization. The framework of this organization has been improved. The new organization will consist of many different branches – addressing the multiplicity of student interests – including, but not limited to, scholarship and academics, research, civic engagement, student life and cultural interactions. The possibilities are limitless.

The organization as a whole has one main purpose: To enhance and enrich the experience of Honors College students. As enrollment is increasing, a place to “plug in” is all the more vital to the student experience.

To ensure the success of this new organization, student leadership is essential. I encourage all honors students to attend the student forum tonight at 7 p.m. in Nott Hall Room 173 to learn more about the opportunities to get involved and to express your opinions and ideas about the future of the Honors College.
